How this blog came to be

Since our first child was born, maybe even before, my hubs and I realized that raising children is the job you'll never exactly "finish"! There's always a way to do more, better, etc. We make a special effort to be meaningful--we're certainly not perfect, but we're trying to point our little ones to our perfect God, and we find meaning in that.

In May 2012, on Mother's Day in fact, my only sister Melissa was suddenly called home to heaven. There are a lot of other ways I've phrased that along the way, but this "phraseology" is me at my best and represents what I truly believe :) Losing her has been devastating for our family. We are very, very close, and it's still hard to wrap my mind around the fact that she's not here anymore.

As life-changing losses often do, this has made me redouble my efforts with attempting to guide my children's lives--and our family--in meaningful ways. We are traveling the way home together, looking forward to one day seeing our God and my Sissy once again.
